. J. Edmond Company was established in 1965 and began providing sampling and analytical services to Petroleum Refineries and Solid Fuel Brokers in Long Beach, CA. Later the company expanded its’ operations to the US Gulf Coast in Texas City, TX and Port Arthur, TX in 1985, and in the San Francisco Bay area in 1998. In 2004, the company acquired an Anode Research Facility located in Mead, Washington. With this added capability, the company has been providing research and development related to pitch demand and anode optimization, calcine coke properties and related anode behavior, laboratory scale rotary and shaft calcining of green delayed petroleum coke, and the use of lesser grade green coke for anode manufacturing to the aluminum smelting industry globally. In 2006, the company completed a joint venture with SAI Gulf combining its’ Texas operations in Texas City and Port Arthur with the operations of SAI Gulf located in La Place and Davant in Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama, forming SAI Gulf LLC. In 2008, the company started providing its’ sampling services in Europe in affiliation with AHK Group. In 2011, in affiliation with marine surveyor company Duncan Shoemaker & Associates, LLC (DSA) A. J. Edmond Company started providing a complete package of Hold Inspection, Draft Survey, Sampling and Analytical services for various commodities at ports located on the US West Coast. At present the company is providing its Sampling and Analytical services to the producers and brokers of Green Delayed Petroleum Coke (GPC), Fluid Coke, Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC), Coal, Pitch, Biomass, Sulfur, Gypsum, and Iron Ore etc.
